BALLROOM & LATIN DANCE GROUP CLASSES

► TUESDAY’S: 7 - 9 p.m. two different dances are taught each Tuesday.

    Those that sign up for the 4-week class program can learn the basics in 8 different dances (Swing, Jitterbug, Waltz, Fox Trot, Cha Cha, Merengue, Rumba, Salsa and Tango.

    New beginners may join on any Tuesday class. Partners not required.

    Class fee is $40 per person or $70 per couple for 4 Tuesday class nights.

 

SALSA (4-Week Course)

Salsa classes are growing, join the most hippest dance craze….

WEDNESDAY’S, Sept. 1-29: 8 p.m. Beginners 1 dancers will learn basic and intermediate footwork, follow and lead techniques and turn variations. Cost is $40 per person or $70 per couple for the course.

MONDAY’S, Sept. 6-27: 8 p.m. Beginners 2 through Intermediate dancers must know basic, forward, side, cumbia and open breaks, right and left turns and crossbody leads for this class. Cost is $40 per person or $70 per couple for the course.

Salsa students who get a friend to join, will get one FREE Salsa group class. 

 

THURSDAY (Sept. 2-23) CHA CHA & COUNTRY TWO CLASSES (Two 4-Week Courses)

7 - 8 p.m. Cha Cha. Class fee is $30 per person or $55 per couple for 4 Thursday class nights.

8 - 9 p.m. Country 2 Step. Class fee is $30 per person or $55 per couple for 4 Thursday class nights.

OR TRY THE BONUS PACKAGE FOR BOTH COURSES

7 - 9 p.m. = $55 for singles or $90 for couples 4 Thursday class nights.

Partners are not required. Learn basic footwork, follow and lead techniques

and turn variations. Students must start Sept. 2.

SATURDAY’S, Sept. 4-25, PRAISE DANCE, FLAG & MIME DANCE CLASSES

 

ONE Accord Praise Dance Co (Many members, ONE Body, exalting ONE God!) presents….

 

► 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Beginner Praise Dance (Starting @ age 11)

 The goal of the class is to develop strength and flexibility while building a dance vocabulary. Students will learn, but are not limited to, the basics of ballet, jazz and modern technique and movement to scripture. This class goes at a moderate pace, allowing each student to discover the inner praise dancer within.

 

► 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Beg/Int. Praise & Technique

This class is for experienced dancers and those who have taken the beginner class and are ready for more complex technique and choreography. Flags and other instruments will be introduced in this class.

 

► Beginner Mime Dance (Starting @ age 12)

This class incorporates sign language, dance and interpretive movements to bring the lyrics of a song and the word of God to life. The goal is to teach students how to control and execute gestures clearly and precisely with their body and hand movements. Experience in popping & dance preferred.

 

Important Information: All classes will begin with a short prayer and students will also be exposed to scripture from the Holy Bible. Please understand that we are not enforcing a specific doctrine; however, students must examine dance through the scripture in order to understand the purpose and meaning of praise dance.

 

Choreography assistance is also available for praise dance soloist or established dance ministries. 

 

CLASS ATTIRE: Ladies/Young ladies: Loose moveable clothing such as t-shirts, jazz pants, capris or shorts, with a leotard and tights underneath. Males: Loose t-shirt and sweat pants.

 

SHOES: ballet slippers, jazz shoes, barefoot or foot undeez.
